Finding an apartment in New York City is a little like finding a needle in a series of haystacks – where each haystack is carefully watched over by someone who would like you to pay them an unconscionable fee.
Alternatively – if you don’t want to pay a broker, you could conduct your apartment search on a website that occasionally lists an offer for free rent in exchange for sexual favors.
It just shows – just because a market is active, doesn’t mean that it’s efficient.
