In my experience, i’ve found that the optimal workout schedule is 4 times per week for 3 hours each workout. This routine equals about 12 hours of working out each week and 156 hours of rest. That is to say, for optimum muscle growth you need to rest much more than you work. The actual growth happens when you’re resting not when your working.
Why then do we work so much on growing our minds? People work as much as 60 or 80 hours a week, leaving relatively little time for rest. Does this sort of schedule also leave little time for growth? Are we chronically over training our minds and limiting our ultimate growth potential? It’s possible that we do this because unlike working out our bodies it’s hard to monitor mental growth. Physical growth is easy, you can see the results.
